This article by our very own Yogesh K. Upadhyaya (Chemical 1977), editor of the ITBHU Chronicle, was prepared by interviewing professors from IIT-Kanpur and Madras, former Chairman of IIT-JEE exam committee and talking with senior engineers who took IIT-JEE in 1960's. Most of the information about the exam is appearing for the first time in news media.
