The alumni network can help further the cause of an LCD projector for exclusive use by the EEE students for their activities and presentations. As a result, the students will no longer have to depend on external sources and will be able to schedule their activities independent of the external constraints.

The LCD projector will be provided to the EE Society which will be responsible for its maintainence and will be accountable for its usage to further student activities.

A separate library for the EEE department has become imperative. We believe that a library will go a long way in the professional and academic developmetnt of the students in the department.
The vision of hte library is to provide the students with:
1. Subscriptions to magazines and journals not available in the IT Main Library or the Central Library.
2. Student licences for software resources and design kits for prototyping circuits and systems.
3. Access to a career counselling team comprising the alumni.

The scope and of the activities of the library can be expanded as and when there is a compelling need to do so.

A lot has been tossed around regarding improvements in the EEE department. Amongst other things, the students want an overhaul of the course structure and more employment opportunities. While these are important issues, it must be understood that there cannot be a transformation overnight and we have to work towards the goal in a strategic manner.

The alumni vision is to create an atmosphere of excellence in the department. This will ensure that a right image of the department (as regards on campus interviews and other carrer oppotunities) is projected to the potential employers and hence the students can benefit from the exercise.
We are much excited to be able to instill an environment for the overall professional development of the current students.

We throw open a forum for discussion on the issue and would appreciate your comments on implementing the alumni vision.
