Dear Co-alumnus,

At the outset, let us wish you a Very Happy and Fun-filled Holi! May you and your family enjoy every moment of this great festival, wherever in the world you are celebrating it.

You may also be aware of the imminent Annual General Body Meeting of AIBA, the Association of IT BHU Alumni, to be held on May 17th, 2008 at New Delhi. On this occasion, conforming to our rich tradition, the Annual Souvenir shall also be released. The Souvenir traditionally carries reports, messages, articles, poems, memoirs, cartoons, photographs, et al, contributed by our alumni members and their family members, and sometimes even by those in love with BHU and Varanasi.

On behalf of the Editorial board constituted for the said Souvenir, we are seeking from the members and their families, literary contributions for publication. You all must have received a copy of the Souvenir 2007 last year and hopefully found it worth a read. This year we intend to make it a meatier and juicier version and seek your active cooperation in making it so.

We have the following thematic sections planned this time:

1. Down Memory Lane or Yaadon Ki Baraat - your funny and not-so-funny anecdotes on life at IT-BHU
2. The Poet's Corner or Kavi Ki Kalpana - your creative outputs in verse, in Hindi or English or Hinglish!
3. The Technocrat or Takniki Guru - Essays on how one has used technology to solve modern day problems
4. My Life or Mera Jeevan - your creative expressions in prose, on places, people, experiences, challenges, victories and just about anything under the sun
5. Life in Pictures or Chitralekha - interesting photographs from your collection

We also plan to do a Lucky Draw among all the contributors on the day of the AGM. The top three lucky winners shall be given attractive prizes! [Off the record, one has overheard some secret whispers implying that one of the prizes is a lifelong supply of Pahalwan's Lassi and Lawanglata ;-)]

So what are you waiting for? Have yourself a Happy Eid, a Good Friday, a Happy Holi and a long weekend of merriment; and then get down to sending in your contributions. The first deadline is Friday, April 10, 2008.
