Treasurer's Report - 2009-10

8th May 2010
Treasurer's Report on 8th AGM, 08th May 2010

Respected senior members of the association, President, Vice-President, Secretary, other Governing Body Members, members and my dear friends. As Treasurer of the Association, I feel privileged to present to you the financial report of our association.

Financials: In the Annnual Report that is available to all, we have a healthy balance sheet of about INR1.2Million which includes approx. INR 0.3Million of contribution specifically for enhancing the IT BHU infrastructure as a contribution from 1981 Batch. There is a small growth in our corpus owing to membership contributions which was a modest Rs16150/- and largely due to sponsorships & advertisements which in the last FY was for Rs375874/- The expenses have seen a rise in line with the scale of events and participation in it as seen in the recent past. Overall expenses in the FY09-10 were Rs421301/- The income in excess of expenditure is Rs111563/- and to that extent we are operating in positive.

Sponsorships & Advertisements: Events of this magnitude and scale would not have been possible without the help of our sponsors and advertisers. We must acknowledge that a large number of alumni have come forth and contributed to the noble cause. But I believe there is a significant scope to increase the corpus through this means. Each one of us if decide to get at least one sponsorship and one advertisement, which is very much possible, it can definitely bring us to a stage where we can start our endowments and other give-backs to the Institute in a very respectable and sustainable manner. I urge each one of us to come forward and try at least once a year to help contribute in this manner. Going forward we are going to take this task in a more structured manner and we will come back to each one of us to marshal the funds so required.

Membership Growth: This is another area that has scope for a steep growth. Membership base and addition of new members reflects on the health of our organization. We are stuck at a modest 400 odd member base. We need active and spirited members to come forth and lead this activity to ensure that at least all those who are in NCR of Delhi and in neighboring states as well as those who have an establishment in Delhi can be made a member. I sincerely urge those in the august gathering to help us get more participation in growing the memberships.

Concluding: I request the distinguished alumni who have made a significant difference in their own field to join us as well as guide us in working towards attaining our objectives. I thank the governing body members, all our association members, our sponsors and all our well wishers for contributing to the cause of Association of IT BHU Alumni.

Adoption - I put across the AIBA FY09-10 Annual Report for adoption.

Warm Regards & Best Wishes
