Sponsorship Appeal | Panel Discussion 2010

20.08.2010

Dear Sir / Madam,

The Association of IT BHU Alumni (AIBA) has been active in the NCR since the last 8 years and represents the Who's Who of Indian industry, academia and government. Driven by the vision of the great Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya ji, we have pledged ourselves to the monumental task of nation-building in these exciting times for India. We have been organizing several initiatives to bring thought leaders on a common platform so that the burning issues of the day may be discussed and debated, in the richest traditions of our pluralistically diverse and culturally rich heritage. The AIBA Panel Discussion 2008 on the subject "Elephants can Fly - Giving India the Wings of Change" was one of such initiatives and had eminent speakers - from Shri Gurcharan Das, eminent thinker and writer to Prof. Pankaj Chandra, Director, IIM Bangalore, dissecting the challenges and opportunities before the nation. Mr. Mark Runacres, Former Deputy High Commissioner, British High Commission at New Delhi, had moderated the panel of speakers with his signature wit and humour.

For the year 2010, we have chosen to focus on the role of education in the development of our country. Like the last time, the Panel Discussion to be held this year will bring together eminent experts from the spheres of business, technology, entrepreneurship, academics and governance. The panelists shall focus on the one critical issue challenging India's dreams of being among the top 3 economies in the world in a few years - the issue of Education and Employability. It is hoped that this discussion will not only throw light on the challenges faced at all levels, but also provide lawmakers and administrators across academia and industry with some tangible solutions and ideas to implement in the future.

It shall be our honour to have your association with the event as a sponsor. The details are as under:

We at AIBA firmly believe that with the Indian economy straining at the leash to break the 10% GDP growth rate, the time was never more suited to debate the role of education in nation building. Will our Education system become an eagle or an albatross for the Indian economy? Will Indian society benefit from the knowledge, skills, values and principles imparted by our schools and universities to the young? Will we be able to provide meaningful employment in industry, academia, research and government for the teeming millions graduating from our institutions? These are the questions we expect eminent and erudite speakers such as yourself to debate and find answers to.
