Understanding Silicon Valley phenomenon: Making most out of the opportunities

Distinguished Alumni Speakers:

Jagadish Bandhole
Vice President, Datacenter Automation Products,
Veritas Software Corp.

Jagadish Bandhole brings a rare combination of enterprise software experience, datacenter knowhow and extensive technical experience to his role at VERITAS Software as the Vice President of Datacenter Automation Products. He has been the key driver of the evolving VERITAS Utility Computing Strategy and has been actively involved with Fortune 500 customers, analysts and industry standards initiatives.

Before driving business and product strategy at VERITAS, he was the Founder and CEO of Jareva Technologies, Inc. where he successfully pioneered and evangelized emerging technologies such as server provisioning, blade management and on-demand computing. His industry contributions have shaped the requirements of utility computing landscape and has driven top technology companies to fiercely compete for this rapidly developing On Demand Computing market. Before leading Jareva, he envisioned, started and led a highly-visible E-Services initiative with Hewlett Packard Company.

In the past, Jagadish held several leadership positions in engineering and engineering management with Hewlett Packard. He has 8 patents pending in the areas of on-demand computing, datacenter automation and distributed systems. Jagadish has a Masters degree in Computer Science from Indiana University and Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Institute of Technology, BHU, India.

Rajeev Chawla
President & CEO,
Metadata Systems

Prior to founding Metadata Systems, Mr. Chawla founded Ingrian Systems where he was VP of Engineering. Mr. Chawla built and led a successful organization that delivered Secure Content Networking Appliance product lines. Mr. Chawla has more than 10 years of computer industry experience leading teams in various capacities.

Before Ingrian Systems, Mr. Chawla led the successful launch of Secure Physician Portal at Healtheon/WebMD. Prior to that, Mr. Chawla was at Sun Microsystems where he worked on next generation interactive Services over the Internet. He was a key member of the Sun Media Center, a video-on-demand server, and Sun Netra Proxy Cache Server product lines.

Mr. Chawla possesses strong skills in strategic and tactical planning, industry and competitive analysis, product definition and positioning. In addition, Mr. Chawla is a holder of 3 US patents and several awards.

1. At the end of Galvez Street, turn left on Serra St.
2. Continue on Serra till you come to Campus Drive
3. Turn right on Campus Drive, continue till you come to Escondido Road
4. Turn left on Escondido Road, continue till the end of road
5. Turn left towards Comstock Circle, and turn right on Comstock Circle

The venue is next to Escondido Village Housing Office on Comstock Circle
