The ITBHUGlobal.org Southern California Chapter kicked off on Saturday, October 9, 2004 with an alumni meet attended by 25 members of the ITBHU family, ranging from 1979 to 2003 batches. The pictures of the meet are now online.

We began with a game in which people asked each other questions with only yes/no answers to figure out the name of the bollywood star stuck on a label on their back. See the pictures for a glimpse of the mayhem that enused :-).

The game was followed by the BHU Kul Geet. Thanks to Dr.Reena Satin, the wife of Dr. A.K.Mukherjee, ITBHU for typing out the kulgeet and sending to us. We all sang the full song (somehow seemed longer than what we had in our I-cards) and the memories started to flow ....

We then had a round of introductions and following that, delicious Indian food.

Starting the round of presentations, Ujj Nath of MET79 presented an amusing slideshow of his recent trip to ITBHU. It was nice to see that the Maharajs are still pot bellied :-). The pics of the Alumni-sponsored IT-Girls Hostel Internet project were also present.

He then talked about the Wireless Connectivity Project currently underway for IT hostels and answered questions regarding that. To find more about that, please click here.

Animesh Pathak CSE03 gave a walk-through of the ITBHUGlobal.org site and explained about how to use it to keep in touch with alumni in your area and worldwide. He also talked about the upcoming features like an appers section and a jobs section. The talk ended with an overview of the projects and donation section of the site.

Finally we had an open house with people from various eras talking about life in IT in their times. We were all pleasently surprised to find that little has changed in the life of a student and the institute still has the warm atmosphere it had two and a half decades ago.
