TAC organises workshop at GNN School, Gorakhpur
Having successfully conducted the preliminary workshops for the first yearites, the Technical Activity Centre (TAC), IT-BHU came back in action at another workshop, which was the first workshop outside Varanasi. TAC conducted a three-day workshop at the Gorakh Nath Public School, Gorakhpur for students of class 11th and 12th. The workshop was held during 30th September - 2nd October, 2005. This trip was supported by the arrangement of traveling, boarding and lodging by school itself. The TAC team consisted of 15 members and was led by Rohit Kumar (Electronics 2006). It was attended by about 60 students of the school.
Three workshops viz. Motorboat, Straw Bridge, and Robotics (Lego Mindstorm) were held over the three days. Students showed great interest and ingenuity during these workshops. Many of the models were at par if not better than those made at the institute by the first yearites. During the robotics workshop the students were asked to build robots using Lego Mindstorm kits that could perform specific tasks and they showed a lot of enthusiasm in achieving what was required. A lot of creative talent was on display, which surpassed the expectations of the TAC team.
The event was organised by Vibhav Agrawal, Mechanical 2006.
