OPULENCE-2006 : An event that promises.
Chronicle Editor @ Nov 11, 2005

Report by : Akshay Rajagopalan

With nearly eighty percent of the fourth year students appearing for MBA entrance examinations, a management festival was long due. OPULENCE, debuting in 2005, is an All India Management Festival aiming to harness the latent creativity and business acumen of students. It also functions as an interface between budding managers and stalwarts of the corporate world.

The Events: Ventura (Business Plan Writing), Manthan (Business Case Stuies), CrossTalk (Panel Discussion), Adiosyncrasy (Ad-designing), Razzmatazz(Debate), Inquizzitive (Quiz), BhuSE (virtual stock exchange), Workshops, and Informals.

Like its previous edition, OPULENCE-2006 will feature various big names from the industry including renowned advertisers, enterpreneurs, distinguished academicians, and corporate tycoons. True to its claim of being a national event, OPULENCE-2006 will feature teams from eminent B-schools like IIM-Lucknow; FMS, Delhi; Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai; NITIE, Mumbai; XLRI, Jamshedpur; TAPMI, Manipal; and with 2 months left for the fest, that number can only go up. Also, a number of engineering colleges including the IITs and NITs have confirmed their participation in the fest.

Still in its infancy, OPULENCE-2006 will endeavour to establish brand OPULENCE as one representing an ocean of creative ideas, intense competition, entrepreneurial skill, and business aptitude; to weave OPULENCE permanently into the festive season of IT-BHU.
