American Society for Quality: E. Jack Lancaster Medal: American Society for Quality (ASQ) with a world-wide membership of over 100,000 people will honor Dr. Manu K. Vora (Chemical 1968) with its E. Jack Lancaster Medal on May 1, 2006 at its 60th World Conference for Quality and Improvement in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. His citation reads: |
“For his outstanding leadership, dedication and contributions in educating, promoting and training quality professionals around the world; In assisting Quality organizations in various parts of the world; For his friendliness towards the International Fraternity of Quality Professionals.”
Dr. Manu Vora is Chairman and President of Business Excellence, Inc., a global quality management consulting firm. He has over 30 years of leadership experience guiding Fortune 500 companies (including AT&T Bell Laboratories, and Lucent Technologies) in leadership development, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and process improvement. He is a Past Vice President from the ASQ Board of Directors and served as a Chairperson for ASQ Chicago Section.
Manu is a sought after speaker on quality management topics. He has over 150 presentations around the world. In 2005, he authored “Managing Human Capital” chapter in the Six Sigma for Transactions and Service book published by McGraw-Hill.
Manu holds MBA, and Ph.D., M.S. & B.S. in Chemical Engineering. As an Adjunct Professor, he teaches “Quality Management” and “Supply Chain Management” in the MBA Program at the Stuart Graduate School of Business at Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. He is a Visiting Professor at the Great Lakes Institute of Management in Chennai, India where he teaches Total Quality Management.
Manu has been recognized with many honors from ASQ. He is a recipient of “Professional Achievement Award” and “International Alumni Leadership Award” from IIT, Chicago; “Paul Harris Fellow Medal” from the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, and “Distinguished Service Award” from Save The Children Federation.
As a founding Director and President of Blind Foundation for India, Manu has raised over $2.5 million to help visually impaired people in India.
