Book Fair organized by IT Main Library:
A book fair was organized by IT main library on 2nd and 3rd September 2006 at ID Lab (Main Workshop-ITBHU). Books from different publishers/suppliers were at display for the public. The fair was inaugurated by the Dean, Prof. J. N. Sinha. Library in-charge Prof. G. V. S. Sastry and Librarian Navin Upadhyay were also present. The objective of this Exhibition was to enable teachers and students of the institute to peruse and recommend latest editions of books and CDs (Books Published after 2003).
The Main Library will purchase the selected and recommended books depending on the budget.
Infrastructure improvements: IT Library
- A computer lab with 50 terminals is to come up in the Main Library. Along with referring online journals the 50 terminal set up, with full multi media capabilities, will be used as the 'Language Lab'. The lab would help in improving the communication skills of the students and its programs would be managed by the Humanities department of IT BHU.
- Two Xerox machine (copier + printer) have been purchased for photocopying and computer print facility.
- CCTV has been installed for security purpose.
- There is a plan to change the look and feel of library to attract more teachers and students.
- Plans to purchase a 30 KVA GEN SET for continuous power back up.
Updates on the Library Automation:
Work is going on in full speed and till date 30,000 books have been entered in the system.
