- Society You Fear
Society has been forcing us to do what is legally right but our conscience does not permit. Later we feel guilty for what we did. In this poem I have taken some references from Hindu myths as well as mentioned some events from Indian history.
The love of Salim for Anarkali was true
but they're not allowed to get through.
The love of Mira for Lord was eternal, divine and serene
but it brought her craze, poison and pain.
They're not allowed to marry
but society gestured sorry.
Even Lord Ram had to leave Sita
for there was a factor
of doubt of character
Even Lord Christ was crucified
till he died.
Thee prince of heaven
was charged of treason.
We did sin but uttered sorry again.
Galileo was to die, how dare he defy
the statement of church, institution of thy.
Socrates was arrested, Aristotle poisoned
for new philosophies they tested, system they defied.
Sorry we said but what we could do
for they did right things but at wrong time too.
At present also you don't dare
defy society system you fear
for at first we punish
later our heart tears.
What you have to do, you have to do
for we don't have reasons to reason you.
This is how the system works
this is how you should too.
