Abhivyakti Wins All Hearts
Arun @ Apr 17, 2007

By Ankit Khanna, 2nd Engg. Physics

Abhivyakti is an annual event in IT-BHU, in which the best actors from IT get together and stage a famous play in G-11. Abhivyakti 07 was held on Sunday, 25th March. The play performed was “Badi Buaji” authored by legendary Bengali playwright Badal Sarkar.

The play is a gentle comedy about a group of theatre performers whose preparations for an upcoming play get thrown into disarray, when the heroine’s narrow-minded and traditional buaji shows up. The group tries to outsmart buaji
and in the process several hilarious situations pop-up.

The play was beautifully performed by the Abhivyakti cast. The casting was flawless, the stage-setting grand and the make-up professional. The performance was well-appreciated by the huge audience as was evident from the generous ovation and boisterous laughs that dominated the ambience of G-11 for the entire length of the play. The audience was especially energetic when romantic interests developed between Shambhu and Anu. The play was directed by Vaibhav Suman and I doubt that even a professional could have done a better job.
