IT-BHU has a long standing tradition of excellence in theatre and it was prolonged on November 9 and 10th. IT students thronged G-11 to witness the Fachcha Skit and dance competitions which were organized under the name of Kashiyatra prelude.  The Fachcha Dance and Skit Competitions are annual fixture on institute’s extracurricular calendar. It serves to expose the first year students to show their talent and compete with each other for very first time since they stepped into BHU. There was barely any standing room left in G-11 as the budding thespians of the first year put on grand display on which whole ITBHU kept shaking their bodies.

Their mind blazing performances created such a magic onto crowd that they kept on dancing and just dancing. Final results of group dance competitions were not different from what has been expected. The ceramic engineering students, which won last year also kept their habit of ruling the stage; the story nowhere differs here as they were the winners. After ceramic, there were computer science students securing 2nd rank followed by electronics students.

As a whole evening of 30th September proved to be completely power packed during which every foot in ITBHU could not resist it from moving with the beats. The second juncture of this chain of enthralling events was showcased on 10th November when once again first yearites competed to prove their marvel in faccha skit competition.

There were 6 skits performed in all, all about 15 minutes in length. The skits were all based on original ideas and were of humorous or satirical genre. They encompassed a wide variety of subjects-from college life to social issues. The ovation that some of the skits received was deafening. Ceramic engineering continued its preeminence here also by emerging as winner with mining engineering, both were clubbed, followed by students of chemical engineering and students of electronics came third.

First year students worked for several days along with seniors from their branches to prepare themselves for the event.

The third prize in Fresher's Skit Competition was shared by Electronics Engineering students (Skit - IIT ShayIIT Hai Rabba) and Mechanical Engineering students (Skit - Matadeen ki Chand Yatra). We apologise for the error (which has now been corrected). The favoured language about Ceramic Engineering students has also been modified.

Without naming anyone, the current students of the institute are requested to kindly keep within the nicer half of language words while posting comments on IT-BHU Chronicle as the comments are publicly viewed by individuals (which at times even do not belong to IT-BHU). I believe none of us would like such an individual to read such comments posted on this article and take up a tarnished image of IT students. Moreover, the readers are supposed to comment on the article only and not to start a conversation amongst themselves commenting on one-other. Hope this is now realised.

Thanks.

Praharsh Sharma,

To Mr. “Never Mind That”…

I am so sorry but I really dint know that people who are so critically evaluating the minor spelling mistakes and grammatical errors in an INFORMAL comment don’t have the shred of guts to face the facts by ATLEAST leaving a name after posting the comment. So it’s just a waste of words to spare anything for such a person who doesn’t have the poor poor guts to hold responsibility for his actions. And of course if you were present then the case is clear for once and all that who deserved what… as is known to everyone… and blabbering on the posts is not going to help, if you have some substance you would have never needed to do a critical evaluation of SPELLINGS. A pathetic attempt to mask pure guilt. And before raising an index finger to someone please look at your own ‘u’ instead of YOU’s. Hope you grow up and make yourself DESERVING enough to be called an IITan who has the guts to take responsibility at least in front of a girl.

To miss Trigun:

It is really sad that an institute as great as IT BHU, a technical college of such repute, is producing engineers that cannot even spell correctly. I hate to point out, but EVERY SENTENCE u have written has atleast one spelling error. The ones that don't have them compensate with the most pathetic grammatical mistakes that 7th grade kids would frown at. I am sure that the computer you typed your critique on had microsoft word; it wouldn't kill to use its services once in a while. I mean, you could have atleast spelt 'chronicle' correctly; IT WAS WRITTEN RIGHT ABOVE YOUR COMMENT!

Speaking of things right above your comment, also written there is that electronics was third in both events. Ma'm, I was there. I saw those two acts. Trust me, in a fair world, the two lines that Mr. Maun has spared in his glowing article are MUCH more than that excuse of an affort that the group had put up.

If you want praise, earn it. Barfing on the chronicle is just too disgraceful for an ITian.

It was really very pleasing to know that IT BHU Cronical is covering events like facha. It wolud definitly serve as a big encouragement to the new batch and would also ensure the improvement in the reachability of the magzine to the masses of IT BHU. The event was, no doubt, a grand success and all the efforts after the long 'cultural starvation' period were answered. The only suggestion that I happen to give here is that an artical should not be atleast branch biased as seems from this one. Ceramics, no doubt did rule the stage but 1 or 2 lines could be very well dedicated towards the other winners as well as they were no where less in performance. And yes, a correction, the third prize in faccha skit was shared by Electronics and Mechanical engineering. Nevertheless a good effort cheers !!.
