The issue of being unable to provide IIT to Poorvanchal (Eastern UP) during its rule has become a major problem to the govt. as well as for Human Resource Development Minister, Shri Arjun Singh. That is why when the question was asked (by reporter) on Monday; Mr. Singh replied that due to some legal problem IT-BHU could not be converted to IIT, but it will become in future. Upon asked the question about what was the legal problem, Mr. Singh became agitated and replied that “I told you that IT-BHU will become IIT.”
Mr. Singh was addressing a meeting on Monday in Raj Rajeshwari Colony in Gilat Bazaar area. As soon as the meeting was over, media persons showered him with questions. With the increasing number of musclemen (Bahubali) standing for the (Varanasi) elections, Mr. Singh stated that no one is more Mahabali (powerful) than Hanumanji, hence it is unfair to describe a candidate as Bahibali. It is people’s weakness to encourage musclemen. On the subject of BJP leader Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi (who is standing in Varanasi election), Mr. Singh joked that “what can I say about a person (Dr. Joshi) who even likes Mukhtar (Mukhtar Ansari, the murder accused currently in jail and candidate of BSP party from Varanasi)?”
