He was interviewed by Aviral Srivastava (B. Tech. Part-III, Mechanical) for Chronicle. Here is what he had to say in an interview with the Chronicle:

CHRONICLE: Congrats Akash! So how does it feel to be the JEE Topper or the ‘IT-Kholu’ for the batch of 2014?

Akash: Thanks! Yeah, it feels nice. But I am really not that excited about it. After all, the real adventure’s only just begun!

CHRONICLE: Tell us something about yourself, Akash.

Akash: I was born in the holy city of Varanasi and I guess one of the reasons I chose ITBHU was my attachment to this city! My father is a bank officer in the Kashi Gomti Samyut Grameen Bank and my mother is a housewife. I studied in Children’s College, Azamgarh till Class 10 and secured 95% in my Board exams. I studied the next two years in Kota at Bansal and Vibrant Institute.

CHRONICLE: So, why did you opt for B. Tech in CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) at IT-BHU?

Akash: I did not have any particular interest in CSE but I felt that it is a rewarding branch with lesser academic burden. I could have opted for Electrical or Mechanical in IIT-Roorkee. My mother also wished that I take up Chemical Engineering at IIT-Kanpur. However, given the reputation of IT-BHU and the Computer Science and Engineering branch, I ultimately decided in favour of the best branch-and-brand combination.

CHRONICLE: How good has been the decision (CSE, IT-BHU) so far?

Akash: Well, I am very happy with my decision of choosing IT-BHU and totally satisfied with what I am getting here. College has been a fantastic experience so far.

CHRONICLE: Tell us something about your interests, hobbies and your plans for the future.

Akash: I love reading novels. My favourite author is Dan Brown. I have read all his novels and especially loved “Da Vinci Code”. Presently I wish to take up a job after B. Tech and maybe pursue an M. Tech after adequate job experience.

CHRONICLE: We wish you all the best Akash. Thanks for your time and concern.

Akash: Thank you very much.
