The team was headed by Mr. Hariom Kumar Meena of IV yr Civil Engineering who is the Jt. General Secretary of the Sports and Games wing for current session. He managed the tour nicely with coordination of all the Captains and players of all the games including girl participants. Cricket team left Varanasi in the night of 15th September and reached Kanpur in the morning of 16th September. We had to play our first match in the afternoon.

The arrangement was excellent in terms of the sports infrastructure; they have indoor facilities for Basketball, Volleyball, badminton, Weight-lifting, Squash Rackets and for other games. The multipurpose Indoor hall is the state-of-art building with a number of big halls and all requirements. They organized all the events also in night except for Cricket, We have played Semi-Final and Final match in the same day due to rain. Our students have performed very well in all games though we were unable to win any medal in Football and Hockey; but boys played well. Special mention must be made here for the girls Volleyball team as they have really performed beyond expectations not only won Silver medal but also get applause from crowd there. They lost with only 01 point in the final game.

There were about 12 out-station teams from all over the country to name a few among them was IIT-Delhi, IIT-Roorkee, JIIT, Noida, MERI, Kolkata, NIT, Trichi and the host of the event, IIT-Kanpur. The schedule was neck to neck and all the teams had to play their matches within 04 days. It was hectic for cricket as they had to play during day time only in which one day  i.e. 18th was  washed-off due to rain and they have to play semi-final and final match on the same day our team did it and succeeded in the tournament beating the IIT-Kanpur in Semi-Final and NIT, Trichi  in grand Finale.

Over all the tour was most successful in recent years where maximum number of medals is won by our students.
