About PanIIT and IT-BHU

As we are well aware, govt. has introduced the IT Bill in the parliament on August 30 this year. After the Bill becomes an ACT around December, the 8 new IITs along with IT-BHU will be officially become IITs. Then our alumni association (IT-BHU Global Alumni Association) will actively participate in PanIIT organization.

Our alumni association is in touch with PanIIT organization through our President, Vish Laxminarayanan (Electrical 1983) and Vice-President, Arvind Gupta (Electronics 1992). To begin with, PanIIT has allowed our association (along with those of 8 new IITs) to participate in the PanIIT Conclave at NOIDA. It has invited our association (along with 8 IITs) to set up a booth at the Conclave. Mr. Arvind Gupta will lead our alumni at the Conclave. Email: argupta26@gmail.com.

We request all our alumni to spare some time and attend the Conclave in large numbers. Please do not forget to attend our booth at the meet!

It has established itself as a premier event, by bringing together an eclectic group of industry visionaries, thought leaders and IIT Alumni from across the globe.

Thanks. Please note panIIT group has given tentative invitation to us and 8 new IITs. Hence the names will not be on their website. However, we have been alloted a stall. When we officially become IIT in December, we shall be officially part of PanIIT.

It is not the question of becoming IIT or not, It is just a matter of time.

I don't see IT-BHU amongst Organizers/Participants in the web site. I am enthusiastic about the conversion. However, personally I feel we need some restraint. God forbid, if this conversion is delayed for some unforeseen reason, I think it will be a joke on us. We should participate only after the conversion.
