Varanasi City is a place of unlimited attractions. Sarnath features and archaeological museum where you will find the Ashoka pillar, which is the National emblem of India. Apart from that, there are quite a few remains of the past, found in the museum.
Varanasi is a place of many temples and some of the attractive temples in the city are Durga temple, Sankat Mochan temple, Vishwanath temple, Bharat Mata temple, Tulsi Manas temple and the temples at Sarnath. The Alamgir Mosque is another popular attraction in the city where the combination of Muhgal and Hindu architectural styles are simply fascinating.
Apart from that, there are other prominent attractions such as Bharat Kala Bhavan and Benaras Hindu University (BHU). Varanasi is famous for silk weaving and it is famous for silk sarees. Banarasi silk sarees are the most important part of almost every Indian wedding occasion. There are many shopping zones in the city from where these exclusive sarees can be collected such as Chowk, Vishwanath Gali, Gyan Vapi, Lahurabir, Godoulia, Dashswamedh Gali, Golghar and Thatheri Bazar.
Apart from sarees, Mirzapur carpets, musical instruments, mangoes and especially sweet betel leaves are very popular attractions in Varanasi City.
