a) In this please find report on IIT-JEE analysis for students admitted to our institute through IIT-JEE for the 2012-13 academic year is published in Report Page. It lists branch-wise and category-wise list of students with IIT-JEE details. The list of students admitted in the current year is also listed. A total of 971 students are admitted to our institute this year.
b) The 2012 Global alumni meet of our alumni association, IIT (BHU) Global Alumni Association was held on 22nd September at Santa Clara, California, USA. More than 300 of our alumni attended the meet. It was a huge success. The meet was attended by Prof. Dhanajai Pandey, Director of our institute; Dr. Lalji Singh, Vice-Chancellor of BHU, Prof. P. Rama Rao, winner of Life-time Achievement Award from Prime Minister of India; Prof. S. K. Joshi of S. K. Joshi Committee for IIT conversion; Prof. Satish Tripathi, President of State University of New York at Buffalo, New York; Prof. Pankaj Chandra, Director of IIM-Bangalore and many others.
The meeting was well-organized by the organizing committee headed by Dr. Manu Vora (Chemical 1968). It was a whole day event of alumni meet, discussion on entrepreneurship, award ceremony, live entertainment, etc. The meeting was addressed by the members of our alumni association, including Vish Narayanan, President of alumni association; Manu Goyal, Secretary; Vibhore Kumar (Treasurer) and Yogesh Upadhyaya.
During the meeting, the alumni association provided Awards to distinguished alumni. Prof. P Rama Rao (PhD Metallurgy 1964) was honoured with Life-Time Achievement Award. There were four awards announced and distributed to the distinguished alumni as per different category. The recipients were:
* Prof. P. M. Ajayan (Metallurgy 1985), under R&D /Scientist Category
*Dr. Ajit Singh (Electrical 1985), under Corporate Category
*Prof. Pradeep K. Chintagunta (Mechanical 1984), under Teaching category
*Shirish Sathye (Electronics 1984), under entrepreneurship Category

Dainik Jagaron report on First Celebrated Senate meeting of IIT (BHU)
The first meeting of Senate of IIT (BHU), Varanasi was held on October 1 at Swatantrata Bhavan on campus. The Senate approved and discussed logo and Ordinance of the institute. The Ordinance is modeled after Ordinance of IIT-Kanpur. This ordinance will be applicable for students joining the institute in 2012-13 academic session or later. For students who joined prior to this are governed by the Ordinance of the BHU.
The IIT (BHU) logo will be used on institute letterheads, while at other places; both IIT (BHU) and BHU logo will be used. From next year, integrated courses will be discontinued. A separate committee will be formed for each of the B. Tech and M. Tech studies to monitor education in those areas. The institute has adopted Kulgeet of BHU.
The Senate meeting was chaired by Prof. Dhananjai Pandey, Director of IIT (BHU). It was also attended by the outside members of Senate: Prof. M. S. Sodha and Prof. Kripa Shanker of IIT-Kanpur, and Prof. H. R. Tiwari of IIT-Kharagpur. Besides, members nominated by BHU Executive Council for Senate, Prof. S. K. Singh, Prof. S. C. Lakhotia, members of other faculties, etc. were present in the meeting.
