Dear all:
We are pleased to announce the 2009 election for Board of Directors for our IT-BHU Global Alumni Association. Attached please find following documents for your information:
1. Currently we have interim board consisting of 14 elected directors and 3 ex-officio directors. The election will be held for all the 14 posts.
The document "BoD election-responses received from board members" shows the decision by members of current BoD; i.e. how many would like to continue in their position, how many will quit, and also who will quit from the currently held position and contest the election for the same or different position.
Irrespective of the above, all 14 posts of BoD are open for contest.
2. The election and process of forming new Board of Directors shall be over in next 2 months. The new BoD shall be ready by April end.
- Announcement of BoD election: March 5, 2009
- Last date of receiving nomination: March 26, 2009
- Last date of withdrawing nominations: March 29, 2009
3. Any registered alumnus can stand for a particular post of director. The candidate should state his preference for a particular post. The different posts for BoD are as per the attached FAQ document.
4. Voting shall be done by the 145 members of CoR (Council of Representatives) members. The election shall be monitored by the election team, whose decision shall be final. The 8-member team of election officers is lead by Dr. Supten Sarbadhikari (PhD. Biomedical Engineering, 1995) and Jairaj Hegde (Electrical 1982).
5. For posts with more than one contestant, the outcome will be decided by online voting. The online voting system shall be put up on our website, www.itbhuglobal.org. The voting process shall be announced by the end of March.
