Since the beginning, our aim has been to provide tax-exemption to all donors to the organization, so that their contributions for the institute's betterment can also earn them some tax-relief.
On the USA front, our Treasurer Manu Goyal and Deputy Treasurer Anand Maharana have been working tirelessly to this end. This page summarized the important milestones reached in this process of getting tax exemption in the USA under section 501(c)(3), and will be updated as we get more info.
- Date of registration of the org as NJ non-profit: 26 Mar 2008
- Date of acceptance of the articles of incorporation: 26 Mar 2008
- Date of submission of tax-exemption forms: 28 Jul 2008
- Expected date of getting tax-exemption from IRS taxes [according to official govt estimates]: 28 Sep 2008 (60 days from receipt).
- Expected date of getting tax-exemption from NJ taxes: No separate exemption needed from NJ
