Rules and Regulations
-
1. The order of precedence and the number of points per publication/presentation are determined based on the points as follows
- Highly-reputed world-class peer-reviewed journal with Page Rank >7 (For e.g., Science, Nature, Macromolecules, Langmuir, etc.) -- 10
- Reputed peer-reviewed international journal with Page Rank >3 (e.g., Journal of Amer. Chem. Society) -- 8
- Other international journal publications -- 7
- International conference papers/presentations -- 6
- National journal publications -- 5
- National conference papers/presentations -- 4
- Student conferences (1st/2nd/3rd Award receiver at any of the conferences at IITs, IISc, IT-BHU, NITs & other reputed Institutions)† -- 2†
- Student Conferences (Others at any of the IITs, IISc, IT-BHU, NITs & other reputed Institutions) † -- 0.5†
2. The number of points will be determined by a sum of all the publications / presentations.
3. If there is a tie, the individual who has maximum points according to the order of precedence will be awarded. For example, A has published in 1 international journal and 1 national journal, while B has presented in two international conferences; both have 18 points, but the scholarship goes to A.
4. Presentation implies oral presentation. Demonstrations, posters will be scored as publication/ presentation minus 1 point.
5. The order of the authors in a publication is not a criterion. If two or more individuals are involved in the publication all the individuals will be considered for scoring. In case of a presentation the presenter will be considered for scoring. The rest of the authors will be awarded main presenter minus 2 points (none in case of student conferences).
6. Same subject matter published/presented at multiple locations will not be taken into consideration. The student can determine which publication/presentation should be taken into consideration. If there is a significant development after the first publication/ presentation, please submit both the publications/presentations for consideration.
Award committee will decide which is taken into final scoring.
7. GPA is not a qualification and/or rate of measure for this award. All the decisions are made by the award committee and are final.
* - Even though the name suggests that the conference is international, the points are decided based on the Affiliated Association(s)/sponsor(s), number of attendees, number of presenters, location of conference, chair person(s) of the conference, etc. The decision of award committee on the merit of a venue will be final.
† - Not applicable to Post graduate/Doctorate/Faculty Categories
